West Coast Gas Ghana Limited (WCGG), a Ghanaian company that has been incorporated to provide services to stakeholders in the value-chain of the oil and gas market has rescued Saint Theresa’s Kindergarten School in Asamankese of the Eastern Region from closure with about ¢50,000.00.
The School, which was opened to “Wee smokers” and stray animals who normally defecate in classrooms has been fenced and the company refurbished all classrooms with tiles, playing kits, water closet toilet, and painted the entire building and fence Wall with about ¢50,000.00.
The company also provided reading books and other learning materials to the pupil.
Managing Director of West Coast Gas Ghana Limited, Emmanuel A. Johnson in an interview said the company since 2017 has been giving to society and many health facilities and Schools have benefited from their social Responsibilities.
He said the company recently supported some Schools in the upper west Region with chairs, School Bags, uniforms, and other learning materials, adding, Nsawam Prison also benefited from the company and other Hospitals in Accra and some Schools in the central region.
Mr. Emmanuel A. Johnson said the company provides commercial advisory services to a broad range of private and public stakeholders in the gas business, including national oil and gas companies, regulatory authorities, and international oil gas companies in Ghana.
The managing director said the company will continue to expand its support to the society and lauded a teacher of Saint Theresa’s Kindergarten, Madam Gifty Mayeden for working hard for the refurbishment of the school.
The Head teacher of the school, Mr. Martin Nyantekyi commended the company for the intervention and called on others to come to their aid to get additional classrooms.
