The Municipal Chief Executive Officer for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai in the Western North Region , Hon. Paul Andoh paid a courtesy call and familiarization visit to the EC on 15th September, 2023.
According to the MCE, the essence of the visit was to gather first-hand information about the exercise.
After the rounds, he expressed satisfaction about the setting and commended the EC team for the outstanding performance so far.
On his part, the District Electoral Commission EC Officer, Mr. Francise Addae-Boateng, briefed the MCE on the exercise stating that the exercise started on Tuesday, 12th September, and Friday, 15th September,2023 was the fourth day. He added that his outfit has not recorded any incident in terms of challenges.
Mr. Boateng then expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Ghana Police Service for the massive support and the media for their co-operation since the commencement of the exercise. He, however, bemoaned network challenges and inadequate canopies and chairs for the applicants.
In conclusion, he pleaded with the media and all development partners to sensitize the citizenry on the requirements for a successful registration being a passport, Ghana card, or two guarantors.
He also hinted that the transfer of votes and replacement for lost ID Cards would commence on 3rd October 2023.
The entourage accompanying the MCE comprised Chief Superintendent, Sampson Agbeko, Divisional Police Commander, ASP Henry Bilson, Operations and ASP Nyaney, 2nd in command, Bibiani District.
