The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly on Monday April 27, 2023 donated assorted food and non-food items to the Muslim community in the municipality for the celebration of Ramadan.
The items includes; bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, tins of Milo, bags of sugar, tea bags, millet, chocolate products, and biscuits.
In his remark, the former Bia West District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon.John Koah who is the Acting MCE for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality said the assembly supports the Muslim community during the solemn period of fasting.
He said the gesture was to make the Muslim community feel comfortable and be part of the municipality to ensure harmonious living.
According to him, for the sake of holistic development and a goodwill gesture, the assembly supports good causes of the people to ensure harmonious living.
The MCE urged Muslims to be steadfast in their faith and pursue the virtues of the religion such as peace, righteousness, love, harmonious living.
“We take inspiration from the President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo who has made education free for all” he said.
He, therefore, urged the youth to take advantage of the policy and pursue higher education in order for them to become responsible citizens, adding that they should refrain from violence and all anti-social behaviour.
Receiving the items,the Municipal Second Deputy Chief Imam Nuhu Mohammed thanked the assembly for the donation.
He said the items would be used for its intended purpose as he prayed for God’s blessings for the assembly.
He used the opportunity to advise Zongo youth to desist from bad attitude.
