Hon. Kwame Obeng Adjinah popularly known as ROYAL former Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency NDC parliamentary aspirant has on Electoral Commission (EC) to extend the limited voter registration execise to 30 days rather than 21days.
Speaking with Hamza Mohammed, he explained that “we are in the rainny season and I believe that most places were not able to register many people due to downpour”.
He added that poor Network too is a major challenge and he believe that the 21 days for the execise should be extend to 30 days.
He called on newly turned 18-year-olds and adults who have not yet registered as voters to take advantage of the ongoing Limited Voter Registration exercise.
The exercise, which began on September 12, is taking place at all Electoral Commission (EC) district offices across the country.
He emphasized that the fundamental right to vote begins with the responsibility of registering with the Electoral Commission (EC). He encouraged all eligible citizens to actively engage in the registration process to ensure they are eligible to vote in the upcoming 2024 elections.
The EC commenced the Limited Voters Registration Exercise on September 12, despite facing an injunction application from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and four other political parties. In an official statement, the Electoral Commission announced that the registration would be conducted at all 268 District Offices.
