The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal branch of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has embarked on a comprehensive fire education for the Bibiani District Police Command in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
They were enlightened on safe use of electricity, electrical appliances, LPG and its accessories and naked fire in this fire season.
They were also cautioned against indiscriminate refuse and bush burning to safeguard the environment.
The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal capital Bibiani is noted for continuous fire outbreaks at the various centers during the dry season.
The Municipal has recorded Seven (7) fire incidents in the first quarter of 2023. The fire cases range from domestic to industrial and bush fires, which form the highest of cases recorded.
The Municipal fire Commander, ADO II Enock Tetteh and the rest of the Team at the Bibiani Fire Station took participants through practical firefighting using a wet blanket and fire extinguisher.
The policemen were advised to improve upon their fire protection level by installing smoke alarms, call points and fire extinguishers at vantage points on their premises to warn occupants against fire and to enable them to handle fires at their incipient stages.
