The Overlord for Bassengely in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, Nana Akwasi Ato-Ware II has advised parents to support their children in school.
He said education is the only inheritance children can obtain from their parents and need to be provided not only with accessible but quality education especially at a tender age, to keep them abreast with learning skills.
Speaking with Hamza Mohammed, he encouraged parents to invest in the education of their children so as to give them a strong foundation for prosperity.
“Children learn and understand everything at an early stage. It is better for every parent to see the need to provide their children that opportunity” he stated.
Nana Ato-Ware II also advised parents to support their children in school in order for them to excel as failure to follow up on academic performance makes children relax resulting in poor performance.
He said the government is committed to ensuring that every child of school-going age is in school and that, parents need to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring that their children remain in school.
He expressed concern about the failure of some youth of today who are involved in smoking and other social vices because it has led to indiscipline among the youth and called for a strong parent-teacher Associations to put parents on their toes to live up to their responsibility.
He, therefore, appealed to the youth to enter into artisanship rather than wasting their time at the ghettos.
