Mr. Samuel Kwagyire, the Director of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal National Service Scheme, has urged the 2022/23 National Service Personnel who have been assigned to the classroom to strictly abide by the Standard Operating Procedure over the course of their one-year service.
Mr. Samuel Kwagyire spoke at the Sefwi Bekwai Anglican Church orientation and said that equipping National Service Personnel with this ability will make them more capable in the classroom, aiding our agencies in providing a successful curriculum.
He said that the training provides personnel with the professional abilities to offer excellent teaching to these schools.
He said “This training does not make participant qualified teachers by any standard”. He further stated that “if the personnel want to be qualified teachers after their service, they have to enroll in the process”.
Mrs.Martha Nnelka Oparah, Municipal National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) director called on service personnel to adhere to the laid-down rules and regulations, and submit to their superior at the workplace to learn and tap from their experiences. She also talked about the code of conduct and highlighted on some of them.
She advised them about punctuality to their place of service.
“They should try as much as possible to be punctual at all times and always seek permission when the need arises. She cautioned the personnel about dressing, since they cannot dress anyhow at their place of work”.
She again spoke about relationships with their superiors and colleagues. “Always mind how they speak, remember respect is reciprocal”.
Miss Gloria Gyabeng, on her part, said the personnel were to help promote their welfare and develop manpower skills through training. She also took the personnel through a brief history of the scheme and its mandate, emphasising the reasons and advantages of fulfilling their constitutional mandate.
She however warned that payment of service allowance would be based strictly on the submission of the duty forms and that any service personnel who failed to submit the forms after the deadline would have to forego his or her allowance for the said month or experience delays in payment.
She then took them through internal matters, thus her work as a secretary at the Bibiani Municipal NSS Secretariat.
She again educated them on how they can purchase items on their dashboard on credit, which will be paid within a stipulated ten (10) months’ period.
She finally explained issues concerning their monthly evaluation form and the e-switch payment system, which includes how to access their evaluation forms and be able to print it.
