The Assembly Member of Surano electoral area, in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso- Bekwai Municipality in the western north region, Hon. Mathew Obiri Adjarko among the residents has appealed to the government for provision of waste containers to help collect the refuse.
Whilst the Municipal Assembly evacuates the accumulated refused dump in the community, they appealed for support to solve the problem permanently.
“We are appealing to the government to expedite the process of providing the waste containers for us. We have written several petitions in regard to the provision of the waste containers to the Chirano Gold Mines, but to no avail. We fear possible disease outbreak since the refused dump is closer to the community and we can no longer hold it,” he stated.
“The municipal assembly have turned deaf ears after several to reach them for the provision of the waste containers but it seems we are not part of the municipality, we are appealing to the NGOs, and others for support since we fear possible disease outbreak,” he noted.
