It has been established that the indigenes of Sefwi Bekwai in the Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region are complaining bitterly about missing items and thieves breaking into stores, phone -shops, rooms and kitchens making away with huge sums of money and taking away with soup, stew,dishes which has got the attention of nananom to form a community watch dog to help curb the menace.
In an interview with Kwame Kontor Boateng, Lord fm, Nana Kwabena Ennin II, chief of Sefwi Nyetina, who doubles as Akyeamehene of Sefwi Bekwai traditional area, has appeal to the residents of Sefwi Bekwai and its environs to form a volunteer group to help the police, patrol during the night to halt the incessant stealing and thievery to allow peaceful atmosphere.
He then appealed to the residents to contribute their quota to buy fuel for their motorbikes, torchlights, energy drink etc to make the effective during the night since nananom alone cannot offer it but need the community assistance to carry on their mission.
Nana Kwabena Ennin II, Akyeamehene of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area also emphasize that the rate at which the school children and some of the teeming youths are entering ghetto base to smoke marijuana and deal with other hard drugs is appalling which parents and guardians need to advise their wards and children to stay away from those activities.
Sefwi Bekwai Dwomhemaa, Nana Yaa Agyeiwaa, appeal to Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai Municipal Assembly to as matter of urgency construct their falling market for them since they’re facing a lot challenges and traders selling on the roadside should kindly stop since they don’t want to see any calamity in near future.
