The youth of any nation is its future. A country that does not value its youth does not deserve its future.”
This quote from Oliver Reginald Tambo was one of two used by MEC Hon. Paul Andoh during his acceptance and keynote address during the maiden edition of the “Approaches Youth Empowerment Summit” Organized by the Member of Parliamentary of the area Lawyer Alfred Obeng Boateng popularly known as APPROACHERS.
He said times have changed and the youth can no longer be swept aside.
“Investing in youth is a prerequisite for further progress and our investment has to be fast, smart and targeted to develop the municipality.
He added the youth’s active participation in such series of lectures will help to create a conducive environment where everyone can start doing things differently and adhering to a common organisational culture of adherence and excellence.
“It is you, the youth, who can instill a sense of energy and urgency while allowing yourselves to learn as much as possible about the job and to be guided on processes in the system.
He advised the youth in the Constituency to focus on what they want to achieve in life before they turn 30.
He said having a focus allowed them to plan their lives well in advance in order to avoid regrets later.
“If you do not have a vision, you are like cotton wool that is blown in any direction by the wind,” he said.
He urged youth in the Municipality not to shield criminal elements who disturbed the peace.
He therefore praised the lawmaker for bringing such initiative into the Municipality.
