The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has challenged the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) claim of creating 2.1 million jobs between 2017 and 2022.
NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama made this statement during a tour of the Ahafo Region, accusing the NPP of making false claims to win votes.
The NPP has been promoting its achievements in various sectors, including job creation, as part of its re-election efforts.
However, Mahama argued that the unemployment rate has risen under the NPP, increasing from 8% during the NDC’s tenure to nearly 15%.
He questioned the whereabouts of the 2 million jobs, noting that many people in the region have not seen the benefits.
