John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has openly questioned the claim by Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration that it has constructed over 12,000 kilometres of roads across Ghana.
Mahama expressed scepticism about the accuracy of this figure, citing a lack of visible evidence to substantiate the government’s assertion.
Speaking during a campaign event in the Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfrom constituency, Mahama vowed that if the NDC returns to power, his administration would conduct an audit to verify the legitimacy of these road construction projects.
He also criticized the state of road infrastructure nationwide, arguing that the government’s claims are inconsistent with the conditions on the ground.
In a sarcastic remark, Mahama speculated that perhaps the roads could only be found in President Akufo-Addo’s hometown of Kyebi.
