The Konor of Manya Krobo Nene Sakite II has stated that the wind of change around women leadership worldwide is blowing to Ghana
According to him, women have contributed significantly to the development of countries globally but their contributions have not been recognized over the years however the status quo he said is gradually changing as many countries are entrusting leadership into the hands of women hoping Ghana follows suit.
“All around the world, you will see the notice of the contribution of women around the world. The United States the Running mate of a major political party is a female. If you go to Germany the Chancellor is also a female, you go to New Zealand the Prime Minister is a female. Now Africa we are seeing the Wind of Change.”
He continued “today a major Political party in Ghana has chosen a female as a Running mate this is significant, this is right, this is a good thing for all of us. And I hope that this wind of change will trickle down from international to national, regional, and then the local level, and I am sure that the example you have set -I already know about your hard work and that is the main reason why you’ve been selected and I appreciate that and I commend you for that. Other women either our sisters or children or relatives or loved ones will also say to themselves that yes I can do it too like her.”
The Konor of Manya Krobo said this Monday when the Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, paid a courtesy call on him as part of her campaign tour on the Eastern Region.
Nene Sakite II pledged her support and blessings to Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as she campaigns in his traditional area.

The Vice-Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Monday began a five-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region.
She toured Asuogyaman, Lower Manya Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, and Yilo Krobo and Okere constituencies on the first day.
She will continue to Asene-Manso-Akroso, Kade, Akwatia, Lower West Akim, Koforidua, and Nkawkaw. She would also tour Abirem, Atiwa East, Fanteakwa North, Abuakwa North, New Juaben South, New Juaben North, Ayensuano, Upper West Akim, and Nsawam-Adoagyiri.
The Running Mate’s team includes Samuel Ofosu Ampofo -National Chairman of NDC, George Opare Addo -National Your Organizer Hon. Alex Segbefia – Former Health Minister and Deputy Campaign Manager for Election 2020, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa – Former Deputy Education Minister, Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto – Deputy Women’s Organizer, Chief Biney – Deputy National Organizer, Ms. Emelia Arthur – A former Deputy Western Regional Minister, Hon Abu Kasangbata – A Former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, Musah Abdulai, Former MCE for Bawku and Mrs. Mawuena Trebarh, A Former CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and now Spokesperson and Head of Communications for the Running Mate of the NDC.
