A devastating incident occurred in Bibiani, Western North Region, on Wednesday, March 12, when a woman drowned in a well.
The victim, identified as Mary Ansomah, was believed to be in her 45’s and resided in the Praga suburb.
According to family members, Mary suffered from epilepsy and was fetching water from the well when she fell in. Her body was discovered lifeless at the bottom of the well, prompting family members to alert the authorities.
The incident was reported to the police, who collaborated with the fire service to retrieve the body for preservation.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the tragic incident.
