The Western North Regional Minister Hon. Richard Obeng has donated 600 dual desks to Sefwi Bekwai Methodist Basic School and Queens Senior High School both in the Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
Each school received 300 dual desks.
The move is part of an effort to fix the ubiquity of inadequate furniture challenges facing schools in the region affecting teaching and learning.
Speaking with Kwame Kontor Boateng, Lord FM, Hon. Richard Obeng Ebbah stated the Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai Municipality was facing a desks deficit hence the presentation of the 600 desks to the schools.
He said the desk deficit facing the entire Region will be resolved.
He advised students to take their studies seriously and again improve their performance in Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The chief of Sefwi Chiraa who doubles as Adontenehene of Sefwi Bekwai traditional area, Nana Marfo Panyin on behalf of Nananom expressed his profound gratitude to the minister for keeping his promise and charged both students and teachers to maintenance culture.
Mr. Patrick Kwan, who represented the Municipal Education Director in the Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai thanked the regional minister for such a move since their challenges of desks deficit is reducing gradually.
