A World Bank team led by Dr. Enoch Oti Agyekum met with the Chief Executive, Dr. Okoe Boye, his Deputy responsible for Operations, Mrs. Vivian Addo – Cobbiah, and other Management Staff of the NHIA on Thursday 19th January 2023 to advance ongoing discussions broadly centered on how to expand NHIS Coverage and prioritize Primary Health Care Financing.
The meeting discussed the Work Plan of the NHIA on how it will increase the number of people who are active members of the Scheme, increase the number of indigents who are active NHIS members, and also touched on how the NHIA could increase the annual proportion of claims paid within 90 days of submission.
The World Bank Group commended the NHIA for their professionalism and expressed great satisfaction with the NHIA’s Work Plan.
As part of the arrangement, the World Bank is offering Financial Support to the NHIA and other health-related agencies to boost health outcomes.
On his part, Dr. Okoe Boye expressed his appreciation to the Bank as well as the NHIA project team for the good work done.
He assured the bank that, the NHIA will work hard to achieve the results that would enable the Authority to access the funds.
