Thirty-four people died with many others injured in an accident that happened at 12:15 am Tuesday on the Cape Coast-Takoradi Highway, in this regard,
Abdul Wasiu Wudu, the Public Relations Officer at the Central Regional Ghana National Fire Service has attributed the awkward accident which occurred on the CapeCoast-Takoradi Highway claiming thirty-five lives to unauthorized overtaken on the part of the Accra driver heading to Takoradi.
Mr Amudu made this assertion on Daddy’s FM morning with Abena Pokua Ahwedee on Wednesday.
The heart-wrenching accident which happened at Dompoase near Komenda in the Central Region leaving many injured aside the death row involved two buses, one from Takoradi to Accra and the other from Accra heading towards Takoradi.
Narrating the incident, Mr Wasiu Wudu during an interview on Dadi FM’s morning show with Abena Pokua Ahwenee, said: “The red Yutong bus travelling from Accra to Takoradi tried to overtake the vehicle in front of it and ended up colliding into the oncoming white Takoradi to Accra bus”.
Sending some words of caution to both pedestrians and drivers, Mr Wasiu Wudu asked them to be conscious in observing road regulations to reduce the spate of road carnage in the Region.
He also urged drivers to be mindful of how they do overtake in order to avert any unfortunate road accidents in the coming days.
