The Member of Parliament for Yilo Krobo in the Eastern Region, Albert Tetteh Nyakotey has handed over more than two thousand pieces of mathematical sets to the Yilo Krobo Municipal Directorate of Education for onward distribution to all 2,150 BECE candidates in the Constituency sitting for their exams beginning today.
The mathematical sets are to be given to candidates in both public and private schools.
The gesture of the MP’s commitment to improving the standard of education in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.
The Municipal director of education, Mrs. Veronica Tetteh, in her remarks thanked the MP for his cooperation and support towards education, especially in the area of educational infrastructure.
The MP reiterated his commitment to work closely with stakeholders in the education sector to further improve the quality of education in the Municipality.
The mathematical sets were subsequently dispatched and distributed to the candidates ahead of the examination which kicks starts today November 15th and ends November 19, 2021.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) will be held at 2,158 centers, with a total of 571,894 candidates across the country.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer for the Service, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, she urged the candidates to eschew all forms of examination malpractices during the period.
“Candidates, invigilators, supervisors, school authorities, teachers, and parents are advised to desist from any form of examination malpractice.
