A political analyst Samuel Boateng was of the view that it will be difficult for the Speaker of Parliament to declare judgement on petition by Tamale South MP,vHaruna Iddrisu.
He was speaking with Kwamina Sam Biney on BRYT Adekyee Mu Nsem on Thursday concerning the proposed declaration of some seats vacant due to intentions of some MPs to contest as independent candidates in the December Parliamentary elections.
Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin slated Thursday, October 17 to bring his judgement on the matter when the petition was raised on Monday.
Mr. Samuel Boateng indicted that the provisions in the constitution does not apply to those who are yet to act on their intentions, and therefore, see no reason to take a stand on just mere intentions.
Gomoa West MP Cynthia Mamle Morrison and other NPP MPs have revealed their intentions to contest as independent candidates despite been in Parliament on the ticket of the party in 2020.
