The Eastern Regional Minister has told Members of the Upper West Akyem District Assembly to expect more developmental projects from the New Patriotic Party’s Administration for massively endorsing the president Nominee for the Assembly as chief executive.
He said the Assembly members for the first time under Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration have given him a joyful message by giving the Nominee, Mr. Eugene Sackey 38 Yes votes, representing 100% and electing Mr. Kofi Mohammed Yasimo 34 out of 38 Yes votes to preside over the Assembly.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for Mr. Eugene Sackey, the Minister said the DCE will not serve for himself but in the name of the President, therefore, the District will not be left out in sharing of National cake.
Mr. Eugene Sackey thanked the President and his party for renominating him for another term and vowed to complete all projects he was unable to win his first term in office.
The DCE pledged to collaborate with chiefs and Assembly members in the area for development and called for support from all people in the District.
Upper West Akim District in the Eastern Region was one of the 46 newly created districts in 2011 under the late President John Evans Atta Mills Administration.
It was carved out of the West Akim Municipal Assembly in 2011 by Legislative Instrument (LI) 2049.
