The current sector minister, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, has been urged to step down by a former deputy agriculture minister in the last Mahama administration.
He claims that this is so because the government hasn’t done much to improve the nation’s food security or productivity.
The Akufo-Addo-led administration, according to Nii Amasah Namoale, has throughout the years made a lot of noise with interventions to enhance the agriculture sector, but these policies have not been as effective as they should be.
These claims were made in an interview with Adom News, by the former La Dade-kotopon Member of Parliament (MP).
“It is so shameful that with all the noise and public shows of progress and launches about Agric production, there’s nothing to show. The Agric Minister, Dr Afriyie Akoto must resign since he has failed at the Ministry,” he fumed.
