National Democratic Congress Communications Officer, Dela Sewakpor has reacted to the gunshot incident which occurred at Kasoa Awutu Senya East earlier today.
The NDC parliamentary candidate in that constituency was attacked by a group of anonymous people in a V8 car, they were shot at and this lead to several injuries as some members has shot as well as a journalist.
According to Seworkpor, two shots were fired directly at two of their cars and one NDC member Abdul Latif Musa is in critical condition and has been admitted at the 37 military hospitals, he believes these are the same people, Hon. Hawa Koomson deployed during the voter’s ID registration saga at the same polling station.
“During the registration, Hawa brought some men to cause chaos at the same polling station, the issue was not handled well by the policemen and the treacherous men involved in it has been released and they are back to Kasoa as I’m speaking now”, he added.
He added that policemen and other security personnel should focus on protecting the citizens and should stop covering up for political parties because their first responsibility is to the state.
“What I want to tell policemen is that while you were training as a security personnel you were not trained by any political party so put the state first and focus on protecting Ghanaians because that is your job”, he fired.
