President John Dramani Mahama has sent a strong caution to potential candidates, emphasizing that they must uphold the highest ethical and professional standards.
Mahama made it apparent that anybody vying for public office should be ready for a demanding duty during his remarks at the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
“Any person who find themselves appointed to public office have to be made aware that they will be held to the highest ethical and professional standards” Mahama stated.
“So all those of you who are plying me with your CVs know that it is not going to be an easy job and it is not going to be business as usual.”
Mahama emphasized the value of honest and accountable governance, emphasizing that public servants are stewards of the funds and confidence that the Ghanaian people have placed in them.
He emphasized that appointees must put the interests of the country first and respect the fundamentals of good administration.
“We will govern with the understanding that we are stewards of the resources and trust that has been bestowed upon us by the sovereign people of Ghana,” Mahama added.
