President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said that the YouStart initiative has been introduced to build the economy to benefit all Ghanaians.
Akufo-Addo called the labour unions to stand shoulder to shoulder with his government to revive the economy.
To him, the government has directed financial and technical support towards young entrepreneurs in the country to develop commercially viable businesses and create jobs for other youth.
During the labour conference in Koforidua on Monday, February 28, President Akufo-Addo stated that Youstart will be a vehicle for supporting young entrepreneurs to gain access to capital, training, technical skills, and mentoring to enable them to launch and start their businesses.
He said that the ten (10) billion cedis YouStart program is intended to help address youth unemployment in the country.
“I recognize the urgency of concluding the review of the Labour Act, and erecting a legal framework that will protect all categories of workers and enable government’s programs to have a positive impact on the condition of life of the working people of our country,’’ said Akufo Addo.
Akufo Addo pleaded with the business community to support his government as they work to return the nation into the path of progress and prosperity.
