Berekum Chelsea captain Zakaria Fuseini wants to be part of the Black Stars that will annex the Africa Cup of Nations for the country after several years’ setbacks.
The West African powerhouse continental trophy drought has prolonged for 40 years, and Fuseini, who is a former defender Black Meteors says he want to clinch the title with the Black Stars.
Speaking to Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the 26-year-old defender stressed it is his dream to make the Black Stars squad one day and win the AFCON title.
“It is the aim of every player to represent his country at the national level. Personally, it is my dream to make it to the Black Stars one day, and eventually be part of the squad that will lift the AFCON trophy for the country” he said.
The 26-year-old defender began his playing career with Berekum Chelsea and has since featured for the club till date.
During the 2021/22 season, the former Black Meteors defenders was farmed out on loan to Spanish lower-tier club, San Fernando CD.
Following the expiration of his loan deal, the Ghanaian defender made a return to join parent club, Chelsea.
The highly-rated defender was pivotal for Berekum Chelsea, who finished third in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League campaign. He made 31 appearances and was rock-solid at the back for the Bibires.
