Zambian police have opened an unusual investigation into the attempted murder of a judge who is being investigated for corruption.
Wilfred Muma, a high court judge in western Zambia, reportedly tried to kill himself by jumping into the Zambezi river; however, Muma was rescued by fishermen.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he is receiving medical attention.
Judge Muma is currently facing allegations of transferring a land title involving a Zambian Army property in Lusaka to former governing party which wanted to use it to build its offices.
