A third year student at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University -LMMU- has died of multiple stab wounds after he and his cousin were attacked by six criminals on Saturday night.
The two, who were about to enter the University of Zambia gate from East Park Mall after a drinking spree, were stabbed multiple times leading to the death of 25 year old Oscar Masaiti.
Zambia Police Deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale says the second student Mwila Mwila who is aged 27, managed to escape the attack and reported the matter to Handsworth Police Post.
Mr. Mwale says after the two students were ambushed, the criminals grabbed phones from one of them and when the deceased tried to fight back, they stabbed him to death.
He says the gate the students used is isolated and not manned by security.
