As part of the strategic effort of delivering critical early weather warning information to Ghanaians, the Ghana Meteorological Agency (Gmet) has equipped media practitioners with early warnings in the Eastern Region.
The workshop was under a theme: “Advancing Early Warning for All: Media as a Lifeline.” It brought together key stakeholders from TV, radio, print, and online media to deliver timely weather updates.
The Deputy Director-General for Operations, GMet, Dr. Ignatius Kweku Williams, explained that the seminar seeks to strengthen collaboration with media practitioners for collective responsibility.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Ignatius Williams explained that the important initiative will help enhance the knowledge of the newsmen to deliver accurate weather updates to their listeners.
Dr. Ignatius Williams articulated that the feedback and contributions from the participants will support proving their services.

Participants were lectured by facilitators to verify their source from official Gmet Channels and build public trust in early weather warnings.
Journalists in their group presentations also suggested measures to be adopted by Gmet to advance their activities in the country.
