South Akim Rural Bank PLC is proudly marking its 40th anniversary in the Eastern Region, commemorating four decades of dedicated service, growth, and strong customer relationships. The celebration is part of the bank’s broader strategy to strengthen customer loyalty, build trust, and reinforce its commitment to long-term success.
The anniversary festivities began on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, and will continue through to Saturday, February 28, 2026. The celebration includes a series of impactful activities such as free health screenings, a community float, a quiz competition for schools, and special recognition for both staff and loyal customers.
Speaking during a media engagement at launch of the celebration, Mr. Stephen Yamoah Nteful, CEO of South Akim Rural Bank, reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to offering improved services and building stronger relationships with its customers.
He emphasized the bank’s remarkable journey since its establishment in 1984 at Nankese, noting that, it was originally set up to serve farmers and local residents who lacked access to formal banking services.
“Our operations started modestly in a post office building, with just five staff members and a working capital of 25 Ghana cedis. Today, that capital has grown to over 6 million cedis, a testament to our resilience and steady progress,” Mr. Nteful shared.
He highlighted the 40th anniversary is not only a time to celebrate but also an opportunity to reflect on the bank’s achievements and chart a bold course for the future.
Looking ahead, Mr. Nteful announced that a lineup of programs will continue through 2026, all geared towards deepening community engagement and customer appreciation. He assured stakeholders that the bank remains fully committed to delivering financial solutions that empower individuals, businesses, and communities.
“We are excited about what the future holds and remain focused on strengthening our services, growing with our customers, and contributing meaningfully to the local economy,” he concluded.
South Akim Rural Bank since it’s establishment has proven to be one of the best rural banks in the country, as it’s achievements has contributed to the improvement of their customers’ businesses and the country’s financial sector at large.
