A devastating boat accident on the River Oti in Ghana has claimed 14 lives, with seven people surviving the tragedy.
The incident occurred on Saturday, October 11, 2025, while the boat was carrying 21 individuals onboard from Okuma, an inland fisheries community in the Krachi West Municipality across the river to Debume for a funeral.
Bryt fm news in an engagement with Mr. Wisdom Gakpladzi, a resident in Debume said the boat capsized due to negligence and lack of experience on the part of the driver, leaving passengers struggling to stay afloat.
