Residents of Ehiamenkyene in the Fanteakwa District of the Eastern Region have renewed calls on the Inspector-General of Police, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, to urgently intervene in the investigation into the murder of Evelyn Osakonor, popularly known as Koryo, as the prime suspect remains at large months after the crime.
The appeal was made on Saturday, January 3, 2026, during her burial, as family members and community leaders accused the police of slow and inconclusive investigations, warning that fear and tension are growing in the community.

Evelyn, a market food vendor and mother of a three-year-old, was allegedly murdered on November 13, 2025, with her body later found at a guest house linked to her boyfriend, popularly known as James Bond, who has since gone into hiding.
In a petition read at the funeral, the Ehiamenkyene Youth Association said repeated reports of sightings of the suspect had not led to any arrest, calling for swift, transparent action to ensure justice and restore public confidence in law enforcement.
