President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to tell Ghanaian about social intervention policies they intend to introduce when given the nod and stop talking about reviewing what his administration has introduced.
He has however challenged the NDC and their flagbearer to come out immediately and outline what they intend to review under the free SHS policy.
The NPP in the position to win in the 2020 polls
Addressing the 2019 National Delegates Conference at the Fantasy Dome at the Trade Fair Centre, La, Accra, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo said “All they keep saying is that they will review the policy if they come to power. Is ‘review’ a policy? For someone who said it was a bad policy, their claim to review it only means cancellation. We will not allow them to come and cancel the Free SHS policy,” the President said.
“Since I hinted at introducing the Free SHS policy, the opposition gave all kinds of excuses as to doubt its possible implementation. But now, their stance is not clear,” he said while addressing a rally after the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Delegates Conference, Sunday.
The President said the April party Parliament contest would produce winners and losers, but that should not divide the front of the party.
“It is the victory of the party that matters not that of the individual… The party is bigger than any individual.
“Let us stand together…we are not each other’s opponents or enemies”, he urged.
The President reminded the delegates of the NPP’s onerous responsibility of putting and keeping Ghana on the path of growth and progress, urging them to enhance the party’s communication, and strengthen the Organisation from the grassroots to the national level.
