Black Stars B trainer Ibrahim Tanko believes teenage sensation Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has what it takes to be a great footballer if he is natured well.
The 17-year old currently plying his trade for Division One side Steadfast FC has dominated the headlines in recent times after helping the Ghana U-20 team to clinch their fourth AFCON title.
He was subsequently named the overall best player of the tournament hosted by Mauritania last month.
Fatawu after his exploits with the Black Stars earned a call up into the national team for the 2021 AFCON qualifiers but was dropped to join the Black Stars B for the Uzbekistan friendly.
The Black Stars B lost the game by 2-1 and it was Fatawu who scored the consolation goal.
In an interview with Happy FM, he shared the youngster has a huge potential and for that matter, must be natured well to reach greater height.
“Fatawu has the quality and he has to join the Black Stars. We have to nurture him because the talent is huge. I have known him since his days at Shooting Stars before I came to meet him again at the national U17 team and U-23 team.” he said.
“They played a game at Mc Dan Park and I was discussing with the technical director how well they can play him and Coach Karim Zito went to play him very wisely at the tournament.”
“All I pray for him is to be stay fit because to be great you have to be fit and if he is fit he will go very far.”
