Seventeen(17) Nigerians have been arrested by a joint team led by Operation motherland taskforce supported by lower Manya Municipal Immigration command and Police at Akuse in the Eastern region.
The illegal Immigrants made up of five females and fifteen males were onboard Benz Sprinter Bus with registration number GR 5314-21 from Aflao heading to Accra.
They were arrested upon intelligent that they have entered the country illegally from Aflao.
The bus was being driven by a Ghanaian driver and his mate .
The suspects have been taken to Operation Motherland taskforce’ office in Ho the Volta Regional capital.
Nine Nigeria jail breakers who attempted to illegally enter Ghana were arrested last week.
The Comptroller General of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) Kwame Asuah Takyi had earlier sent wireless messages to immigration officers on Ghanaian borders to be vigilante and intensify security as the recent Nigerian jailbreakers could possibly head to Ghana to hide .
More than 1,800 inmates of a prison in southern Nigeria had recently escaped after heavily armed men attacked the prison facility.
