Clients who visit Atua Government Hospital in Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region are unhappy over the unhygienic situation at the public urinal facility in the hospital.
The public urinals for both males and females are not cleaned making the place very dirty.
One is greeted with a nose-blowing stench right after entering the urinal.
Visitors and clients are surprised a health facility that seeks to provide quality healthcare services could leave a frequently visited facility like the urinal in such a sickening condition.
The irony of the situation is that the hospital has cleaners (orderlies) paid with the Internally Generated Fund of the hospital.
A local Journalist, Omanba Kwadwo Boafo narrated his own experience describing the situation as inappropriate for healthcare.
“Yesterday, I visited Atua Government Hospital. What I saw was a clear indication that the place is deteriorating
All understanding l sought from psychosocial health therapists says the environment of a health facility alone must be a relief to the patient
However, the situation in Atua Government Hospital seems to be opposite according to the source, the sitting place for nurses on duty at the female ward and part of the maternity ward get flooding anytime it rained heavily” He said.
