A drinking Spot Operator has been gunned down over Gh5 at Apirede -Akuapem in the Okere District in Eastern Region.
The now-deceased persons identified only as Yaw was shot twice in the rib and chest by his assailant Kwame Dankwa a farmer on Thursday, June 17, 2021, around 9:00pm, according to a witness.
The incident occurred during a misunderstanding between the two when the suspect attempted to retrieve his Ghc5 debt from the now-deceased person.
The deceased alleged slapped the suspect who also rushed into his room pulled a gun and shot the victim twice in revenge.
He later reported himself to the Adukrom Police. He was arrested and sent to Akropong Divisional Police Command to assist the investigation.
Police visited the scene of the crime and after taken inventory conveyed the body to Tetteh Quashie Memorial Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh confirmed the incident and said the victim will be put before court on Monday.
