At least two protestors have been shot dead while three others have sustained injuries from gunshots by a joint force of Police and Military dispatched to maintain law and order at Ejura Sekyeredumase in the Ashanti region Tuesday afternoon.
The protesters have hit the streets over the killing of a social media activist Ibrahim Kaaka alias Macho who was attacked by a mob over his social media activism claimed to be making the government unpopular.
Ibrahim Muhammed was ambushed and brutalized in front of his house by his assailants when he was returning home on his motorbike at about 1:30 am on Sunday, 27th June 2021.
The attack follows threats on his life to stop his activism against the government.
He was subsequently rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi where he was put on oxygen until he passed Monday afternoon.
He is reported to be a member of the #fixthecountry group.
