The Central Regional Women Organizer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Charlotte Adjoa Antwi has revealed her supports for the sitting member of parliament for Awutu Senya East together with all the women organizers across the 23 Constituencies in the Region.
Charlotte Adjoa Antwi who wished no female will contest against the sitting MP, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson said, “The only person the regional party know is Mavis Hawa Koomson. Some people suffered for the party to get to where it is now in the region so there is no way we are allowing anybody to take over the MP seat. Whoever wants to contest can join the cue and wait for their turn to contest. The party will support them whenever it is their turn. The party needs peace and harmony.”
Advising party members in the region, she wished all women contesting in the Central region would go unopposed.
According to her, her outfit stands for every woman who shows interest in contesting for a seat in the upcoming Parliamentary primaries particularly the Five (5) Female MP’s that the party have now.
Speaking to Bryt FM News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, Charlotte Adjoa Antwi averred that women are able to deliver on their mandate should they be given the opportunity hence the need for the party to protect them so they can go Unopposed.
Meanwhile, the Constituency Chairman for the Party, Alhaji Abu Sadat (Allan Parker) has stated categorically that his team will never be neutral until those who have picked up Nomination Forms goes through a successful vetting process as people alleged that they always hijack the forms before it gets to the office.
“All we need is money so if you are ready we will give you the forms to fill and file,” Allan Parker added
Siding with the women organizer, Alhaji Abu Sadat also said the executives are all in to support of Hon. Hawa Koomson. This is because they want the MP to retain her seat for the third term.
“Don’t look at Hawa; look at the seat and the party. Let us maintain the seat. Don’t do anything shameful to take Hawa out due to some penny,” he advised polling stations executives in the region.
The Sitting Member of Parliament, who doubles as the Minister of Special Development Initiatives, Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson has successfully filed her Nomination form to seek for re-election.
