Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu has entreated the Ghana Football Association to strengthened the technical bench of the Black Stars ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The AFCON 2021 has been slated between January 9 to February 6, 2022.
Ahead of the tournament, the astute politician who sees the bench of the senior national team as weak has called on the FA to include ex-players in the backroom staff.
“Kudos for that but you know the problem, the team, the political leadership, the President and you and us we provide it but your technical bench is not good and strong enough and you must work on the technical bench and the use of the old Black Stars players don’t appreciate it” he said.
“There are many experience Black Stars players who wants to play a role in supporting your technical bench to be successful regardless of where they come from or who they are seek to engage them to be able to support your technical bench”
Meanwhile, coach Milovan Rajevac has made his intentions clear on improving his backroom staff before the tournament in January.
Although, he is deputized by Maxwell Konadu and Otto Addo, the Serbian trainer wants a scout and a video analyst.
The Black Stars will leave Ghana for Qatar to begin preparations for the Nations Cup on December 22.
