“Techiman that used to be known for a very high crime rate is no more because security is stable and peace is paramount”, the District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr Emmanuel Ofori has stated.
DSP Ofori noted that the cosmopolitan nature of Techiman having the largest food market in West Africa and also becoming the Bono East regional capital attracted all kinds of people and illicit activities, but the commitment of the Oseadeyor Akumfi Ameyaw IV led Techiman Traditional Council, Municipal Assembly, Ghana Police Service and the good People of Techiman have transformers the city into one of the most peaceful and fastest-growing in Ghana.
The Techiman District Police Commander made this known during a send-off ceremony of Chief Inspector Raymond Awuloge, the outgoing Police Station Officer under whose seven (7) tenure all these successes in security were achieved.
The colourful event held at Encom Hotel was graced by traditional leaders from Techiman Traditional Council, Hon. Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah, MP for Techiman South and also Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko MCE for Techiman, Mr Kofi Frempah CEO of New Leaf Hospital in Techiman, Chief Superintendent Cosmos Afena Damoah Techiman Divisional Police Commander and many others.
In appreciation, Chief Inspector Raymond Awuloge, the outgoing Station Officer of Techiman District Police Command expressing gratitude to traditional leaders and people of Techiman advised that security is a shared responsibility and therefore citizens have a role to play in assisting the Police to protect lives and property.
