Chief executive officer for Cocobod Joseph Boahen Aidoo has said there will be a shortage of fertilizer to farmers in the coming year due to Russia and Ukraine wars hence farmers in the country should brace themselves up for tougher times.
According to him, most chemicals used in manufacturing fertilizers are mostly imported from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus of which no one knows when the war will come to an end
Addressing a durbar at Sefwi Eluokrom in the Juaboso District of the western north region, as part of his working visit to the region, he stressed that it is about time we call a spade a spade and let the farmers know the real situation on the ground but due to politics when you say something people will turn it to score a cheap political point
Mr. Boahen Aidoo again admonished farmers to use orthodox and organic method fertilizers like poultry drops since Ivorians in the Dormaa border area always comes to poultry farmers with articulators to load poultry drops let alone farmers the thing is in our area.
Chief of Eluokrom Nana Ahwoi Payin II also commended Cocobod for the good work done since the ongoing rehabilitation; pruning, hand pollination among others has benefited them, and must not listen to people
