The Akuapem Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has donated blood to the Eastern Regional blood bank to support patients in the various hospitals in the Region.
Blood donation is one of the activities to mark the 100 years anniversary of the Akuapem Presbytery in the region.
The Koforidua-Effiduase District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev Emmanuel Adu-Awuku stated that the blood donation is purposely to help patients physically.
Speaking in an interview with Bryt Fm Correspondent, Nhyiraba Nartey Solomon during the donation, Rev Adu-Awuku said the church is aimed to assist patients physically including Muslims, traditionalists, and Christians nationwide.
Madam Philomena Quason, the Eastern Regional Blood Donor Organizer also stated that blood donation helps reduce cholesterol and many sicknesses in the body.
She said that blood donation helps accident victims and pregnant women in an emergency situation.
She called on organizations, churches, and various groups in the country to donate blood to support patients in emergency situations.
