Eighteen (18) year old first year General Art’s student of Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS) in Koforidua has been stabbed to death.
Roland Asare, 18, was stabbed during a fight between his Uncle and a co-tenant, Kwaku Kyere alias old Soldier in a compound house at Ogua near Koforidua Jackson Park on Monday, July 11, 2022, afternoon but died Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Eastern Regional Hospital.
The Uncle of the deceased Nana Agyei, a painter, narrated to Mybrytnewsroom.com that there was a disagreement between the suspect and a mason who is renovating a toilet facility in the house which the suspect pulled a cutlass and stick but he intervened to separate them.
However, a few minutes later, he saw the suspect physically attacking his old mother Comfort Essaah but the suspect turned his anger on him when he attempted to rescue the mother.
This led to fisticuff which the now-deceased boy attempted to come to his rescue but was stabbed by the suspect who was having a knife hidden him.
The victim was rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead the following day.
The family of the deceased including comfort Essaah’s grandmother who raised him since the death of their mother in infancy wants justice to be served.
The suspect Kwaku Kyere alias Old Soldier has been arrested and detained by the Central Police station in Koforidua.
