Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower Manya Krobo, Honourable Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi has slammed Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) personnel for disrespecting his office by fixing a prepaid meter in his house without notifying him.
Personnel of the Company on Saturday afternoon fixed the meter in the house of the lawmaker as part of the ongoing prepaid metering system in the Krobo area without prior information.
He argued that, though he would not have resisted the exercise, notifying him of their coming would have fostered trust among all sides.
He also described as contempt the presence of the military in the Krobo area despite parliament directive for their withdrawal a month ago.
The lawmaker is urging the management of the ECG to ensure their activities do not breed hatred and confusion among the company and residents.
Installation of prepaid meters in the Krobo area with military protection has attracted several commentaries as many believe it is a ploy to intimidate the people in the area.
