Ketekrachi Timber Recovery Limited (KKTL) on Friday 13th March 2020 handed over a refurbished HIPC Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Sedorm to the management of the Asuogyaman District Assembly and the District Health Directorate.
The project according to the Compliance and Regulatory Officer of KKTL, Mr. Paul Ofori Boateng, is estimated at Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 20,000).
Mr. Ofori Boateng also stated that the company has provided the community with a borehole and as part of its local content policy employed more than 50% of inhabitants in Sedorm in the operations of the company.
Out Patients Department (OPD), the main ward, Nurses Quarters retooling of funds and the provision of benches amongst others were the departments the experienced the facelift.
The Ketekrachi Timber Recovery Limited is a beneficial company of incentives provided by the One District One Factory Secretariat under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The flagship policy implemented by the Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration is geared towards making Ghana an industrialized Country and also an avenue to create jobs for the youth of the country.
On his part, The District Information Services Officer Mr. Daniel Siaw Akoto who represented the District Chief Executive for Asuogyaman District Assembly, Hon Samuel Kwame Agyekum commended the company for attending to the needs of the community by refurbishing the facility.
He, however, pleaded with members of the community to get involved in every developmental project (undertaken a development agency) by way of communal labour for the betterment of the community.
A Chief of Sedorm Nana Ayitey expressed his gratitude to the company and the facilitating role played by the District Assembly in completing the facility.
He also requested the two developmental agencies to collaborate and build a toilet facility for the community in order to deter inhabitants from using barks of the river as a place of convenience as such primitive act is detrimental to their health.
