The Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa North, Gifty Twum-Ampofo, has lauded Ms. Abena Gyamera, the Municipal Director of Education for Abuakwa North, for her dedication towards efficient and effective education in the area.
According to the lawmaker, who doubles as a Deputy Minister for Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education Training, Ms. Gyamera’s legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of those who have had the privilege of working with her as a director of education.
She continued that Ms. Gyamera’s unwavering commitment to education and tireless efforts in shaping the academic landscape has left an indelible mark on the minds of the residents.
This came to light during the well-attended retirement and send-off ceremony organised by the municipality and other stakeholders to celebrate the outgoing Municipal Director of education at Ofori Panin Senior High School last Friday.
In her congratulatory message to Ms. Gyamera on her retirement, Gifty Twum-Ampofo said Ms Gyamera’s passion for fostering conducive learning environment, nurturing the talents of both students and educators alike and promoting innovation in education has significantly contributed to the growth and development of their educational system in the Municipality.
“Although your official role may come to an end, your influence and impact will endure, creating a lasting legacy in the educational community.
“I am immensely grateful for your dedication and the positive changes you have brought about in this municipality,’’ Gifty Twum-Ampofo said.
“Your ability to lead with empathy, dedication, and a visionary spirit has not only elevated the quality of education, but has also touched the lives of countless individuals,” she added.
On behalf of the Director General and the Municipal Education Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mrs. Ivy Asantewaa Owusu, the Eastern Regional Director of Education commended Ms Gyamera for her sustained commitment to promoting the image of the Municipality and inspiration to both teaching and non-teaching staff to be life-long educators.
In a goodwill message, Mrs. Ivy Asantewaa noted that Miss Gyemara’s support and generous contributions towards academic improvement, as well as infrastructural development in the Municipality have been established.
“Your unrelenting efforts have brought the Abuakwa North Municipal Directorate of Education to this far. You deserve our unending prayers and gratitude for your perseverance, devotion, and hard work.
“I heartily congratulate you again for the toil day and night. You will forever be remembered as the positive light that led the way to establish a directorate that sparked active change for the betterment of society,” the message said.
The Eastern Regional branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) eulogized Ms Gyemara for showing great interest in GNAT activities, adding that her loyalty, commitment and dedication to GNAT, which span over 30 years, cannot be allowed to pass without notice.
“Throughout your tenure, you have been a beacon of inspiration, fostering an environment of excellence and innovation. Your commitment to shaping the future of our youth has been truly commendable, and the impact of your efforts will resonate for years to come,” GNAT said.
On his part, the Abuakwa North Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, indicated that Ms. Gyamera over the years worked assiduously to uplift the image of education in the Municipality.
Umar Bodinga averred that Ms. Gyamera demonstrated good leadership and earned the directorate numerous victories. He lauded her for upholding the image and standard of education in the Municipality from its inception.
Ms. Gyamera obtained Master of Education in Mentorship, 2014 at University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
