The Eastern Regional Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), John Appiah Boffoe, has stated that the commission is fully prepared for conducting the Akwetia by-election in the Eastern Region.
The Regional Director disclosed that 52,328 eligible voters are expected to cast their votes in the Akwatia Constituency.
In an interview with Kwamina Sam Biney on the Bryt Adekyee Musem morning show, Mr. Appiah Boffoe articulated that the commission has set 119 polling stations for constituents to cast their votes.
He continued that they have recruited 484 nonpermanent staff to supervise the by-election in the area. Mr. Appiah Boffoe assured electorates of a peaceful and smooth election process.
The Director General for Operations at the Ghana Police Service, Dr. Vance Baba Gariba, during a press briefing at Akwatia, stated that the police remain committed to safeguarding lives and properties during and after the Akwatia by-election.
