A 45-year-old farmer, Anuma Samuel, popularly known as Degbe, has committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest at Tiawia, a community in the Atiwa East District of the Eastern Region.
Police have since taken over the case, investigating circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to family members, the incident occurred at his home on Tuesday morning. The deceased, who was married with seven children, reportedly became furious after their youngest child asked him for money to go to school.
His wife, Madam Adobea Jennette, said the disagreement escalated after which the deceased left for farm. He came back, locked himself in the room and shot himself.
