The Chairman of the Film Classification Committee, Socrates Sarfo has urged movie screening centre television stations, cinema theatres to avoid showing unclassified audio-visual contents on television stations.
According to him, the right owner, licensee, or assignee who desires to exhibit audio-visual content shall submit the content to the film classification committee for examination and classification at least 21 days before the intended exhibition.
A statement issued and signed by Chair of the Film Classification Committee, Socrates Sarfo on Wednesday, April 7 warned that anyone who fails to comply with the set rules shall be subjected to the Offenses and penalties in section 27 of the Development and Classification of Film Act 935.
The National Film Authority also added that from 1st May 2021, no television station, cinema hall, or movie screening centre shall show any unclassified video content.
