Report reaching Bryt fm news has it that traders and residents are stranded at the Cote D’Ivoire boarder a day after Ghana re-opened its land boarders.
Sources revealed that Cote D’Ivoire is yet to open its boarder, hence making it impossible for people from Ghana to enter the neighboring country.
President Akufo-Addo in his 28th COVID-19 update on Sunday emphasised that the country’s land boarders have been opened after almost 2 years closure as part of measures to deal with the spread of the deadly global pandemic.
But a day after the announcement, traders and residents who wanted to pass the boarder to Cote D’Ivoire and other neighbouring countries to do their transactions.
Meanwhile, some stranded persons who spoke the media queries if government had an interaction with the Cote D’Ivoire counterpart before making the announcement.
“If you open our boarder and that of other countries are still close, then what is the essence of its opening? We thought President Akufo-Addo should have contacted Cote D’Ivoire President before making the pronouncement” some stranded traders stressed.
